Air-Operated Double Diaphragm
Many companies are recognized as a leader in the design and manufacture of air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps and accessories. Air Diaphragm pumps are ideal for feeding heavy sludges. This low-cost, simple to maintain pump operates with compressed air.
The Double Diaphragm Pumps have two flexible, vertically mounted diaphragms sealed around the perimeter and connected to a common shaft. They pump fluid through a single-ported manifold by reciprocating diaphragm movement. Compressed air is valved alternately behind each diaphragm.

AODD pumps handle a wider range of pumped fluids than any other type, and are especially suited from liquids and slurry transfer of anything that flows ranging from water, to 90% solids suspended in a fluid, to highly viscous materials.
They also pump corrosive and abrasive liquids because the pumped liquid does not come in contact with the working parts of the pump. Because compressed air is inherently explosion-proof and AODDs use no electrical or heat generating components to spark and cause product flashing, they are suited for volatile fluid transfer. |
Since discharge flow rates can be adjusted by controlling air inlet or the discharge flow, the pump is ideal for batching applications. The pump can operate against a restrictive discharge without damage, which makes it an excellent choice for bulk dispensing, batching, or feeding a pressurized system.
It can run dry without damage to piping, making it suitable for transfer applications, emptying tanks, and dewatering. The pump can also handle fluidized dry powder in transfer applications; shear-sensitive or fragile liquids such as paint, ink, and clay slip; many food products such as milk, beer, wine, and oils; and semisolids such as tomato's, strawberries, olives, cherries, and grapes.
