The basic construction of a filter press consists of two frames that hold the filter structure formed by the two "I" beams, from which the filter pack is suspended by means of the transport carriages.

In order to hold the filter plate pack closed during filtration at a constant pressure, a highly developed hydraulic unit is installed actuating on one, two or four cylinders which transmit the power to the filter plate pack through the pressure piece. The chambers formed between plates when the filter remains in a closed position, retain the solids to be held in the filter cloths which cover the totality of the plates. The filtrate outlet is continuous in open or closed output.

The dehydrated cakes formed inside the chambers fall down when the plates are separated during the discharge cycle. The Tefsa suspended plate transport systems, allow a perfect safe operation with minimum maintenance costs. Both systems have been designed to achieve the maximum free space for optimal manipulation and maintenance care of the filter plates. The opening and closing cycle is operated by a highly technically advanced automatic hydraulic unit. Together with the integrated automatic washing device, drip trays or bombay doors, automatic stop, photo-electric curtains, as well as the automatic system for the filter operation through a PLC program, brings us to the total security concept in continuous process.
